Room 11 worked very hard today to see how they can progress for spelling for the rest of the year.
We retested the Essential Spelling words and discovered that we need to do a bit more work on this.
From now on, we will be focussing on spelling in class a bit more. Everyone will make it a goal to learn 10-12 new words per week. At the end of the week, they will have to prove they can spell and use these words in their writing. If necessary, they may need to learn them at home.
They are getting their words from:
1. Essential Word lists
2. Spelling focus of the week (this week is Contractions)
3. Misspelt words in writing.
4. New words from reading.
5. Thesaurus
